A geographic coordinate system (GCS) can now be associated with a point cloud POD file. On the point cloud dialog, select Utilities -> Coordinate System -> Select From Library…

The standard MicroStation geographic coordinate system selection tool will be displayed. Select the appropriate GCS from the library and press OK. See the MicroStation help for assistance.

A point cloud with a geographic coordinate system will reprojected "on the fly" if attached to a DGN file with a different GCS but this reprojection is approximated by the best 3D affine transformation. For a fully accurate reprojection a new point cloud file must be created by exporting with the reprojection option

To delete a GCS from a point cloud file, select Utilities -> Coordinate System -> Delete.

A GCS can be assigned to a point cloud of POD format as well as to LAS file (on export).
